Preserves properties as sanctuaries for native plants and animals, educates children about protecting the environment, trains adults to participate in the education program, and conducts conservation.

The Bay Area Ridge Trail is a 500-mile multiple-use trail connecting parks and preserved open spaces along the ridgelines surrounding California’s San Francisco Bay. More than half of the trail is complete, open to the public, and in use.

Planning, promotion, and construction of the Bay Area Ridge Trail is the responsibility of the Bay Area Ridge Trail Council, a non-profit organization offering outings, volunteer opportunities, and membership benefits.

Located on Richardson Bay in Sausalito, California, is a unique scientific tool for exploring water movement patterns in the San Francisco Bay-Delta Estuary.

Mission is to protect and restore the ecosystems of San Francisco Bay, the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and the rivers, streams and watersheds tributary to the estuary.

Located at Muir Beach, the mouth of Redwood Creek is a complex mosaic of wetland, riparian, sand dune, and creek habitats. The National Park Service and Green Gulch Farm (each of whom own portions of the restoration area) are working together to develop a conceptual plan to restore the Big Lagoon Wetland and lower Redwood Creek to a functioning, self-sustaining ecosystem.

The purposes of this club are to explore, enjoy and protect the natural resources or our land, including wildlife, forests and plants, water and scenic values; to support and promote educational programs on these and related topics; and at all times to protect and, as far as we are able, to improve the environment in which we live. The club maintains lodges on Panoramic Highway, and at Echo Summit in the Sierra Nevada

MMWD is working on the Mt. Tamalpais Road and Trail Management Plan (RTMP). The purpose of the RTMP is to reduce the impact of roads and trails on water quality and ecosystems. Specifically, we are aiming to reduce the amount of harmful sediment entering aquatic habitats and our drinking water supply.
