A Beautiful Mt. Tam Poem to share…

Posted by admin on October 17, 2008 at 10:09 am

Here
No words, no eyes
Hold you down
In any littleness.

Here
No false pace
Steals you up
Out of yourself.

Here
The mountain breathes
In silence and in storm
In all seasons
Steadily for you.

When Visiting Mt. Tamalpais Make Sure You Plan to Visit the Following Attractions

Posted by admin on October 7, 2008 at 1:56 pm

Mt. Tamalpais is a perfect one day adventure close enough to visit from any point in the Bay Area.  It offers spectacular scenery against various backdrops including the ocean, San Francisco skyline and the Marin Headlands.

If it’s your first visit or your one-hundredth visit make sure to take in the entire splendor that the mountain has to offer.  While on the mountain must sees include the Panoramic Hwy which will provide any camera buff with fantastic photo opportunities.  Also on the list would be Pantoll Ranger Station, Rock Springs Meadow, The Mountain Theater, The Top of East Peak and Cataract Trail.

If your interest includes water then make sure to visit Lake Lagunitas, Phoenix Lake or Alpine Dam.  If you are hungry and have a picnic lunch packed then make your way over to Natalie Coffin Greene Park for a fabulous secluded picnic area.

Possibly the most awe inspiring spot on the entire mountain is Muir Woods.  Its magnificent trees are breath taking and is a must see while touring the mountain.

So the next time you visit Mt. Tamalpais make sure you take in these and other areas of interest.
